Hey Yall,
For those interested in knowing, hello, I am in fact alive lol. There’s been a lot of things going on for me, including quite unpleasant financial situations and what not that has caused me added issues regarding my interest in my own art. I haven’t had any real motivation for it and I’m not sure when it will come back. I appreciate those who have followed me for a while now and have had an interest in my work. It’s been a fun ride. Until a future post~

| Anonymous asked: Thank you for asking my question. Hope the best for you and keep on your art! BTW what art school did you go to? |
Yeah of course no biggie. And awww thank you so much!! I went to the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah Georgia
| Anonymous asked: Hey do you think going to art school is worth? It seems so expensive, but yet everyone seems so successful going to one :l |
So, its kind of a tricky question to answer. My thoughts are, it depends. There are certainly a lot of benefits to going to an art school in the sense that you are surrounded by people who have the same passion as you, you (typically?) have professors who have worked in the field so they have experience and knowledge which they can personally help you with, and then there are the connections your chosen school may have with companies out there. There’s also sometimes that rare chance that someone else in the industry might come to your school and you have a rare chance to have them look over your work (I had a guy come into my class who looked at my work real quick and then another day after his presentation I was able to ask him to look at more of my work and give me feedback.). So these are certainly a lot of great opportunities for learning and networking and what not, but as you said, it’s very expensive.
Art school has a lot of benefits but isn’t necessary to get a job in the art world. I have seen a good number of artists who never had real “art classes” I guess get jobs in the field. It all boils down to ones dedication and perseverance in their work. If you really want to get better and you are a hard worker, you’ll find yourself getting yourself to improve through your own dedication and maybe looking around, finding tips and useful posts on what to work on and what not. That’s another thing between going to art school and not, art school is going to more or less FORCE you to get work done (which can be good or bad depending on how you can handle that force like if it makes you hate art or just encourages you to get things done). Sometimes, on our own we aren’t very accountable and need someone to kinda tell us “do this” and hold us to that.It just depends.
So basically, it all just chalks up to dedication to hone your craft and sometimes just luck. Even when youre REALLY good, you may not get that job you want, which sucks but is just kinda a thing. I have seen people who never went through art school get some pretty decent jobs in the field, and some that went to art school and struggled afterwards/just don’t feel they want to pursue art as a career. I myself have found it hard to get any kind of footing in the field and struggle with feeling if I will make it or not. But I also could try A LOT harder. So it’s all up to you in the end. If it’s something you kinda want to talk more about, feel free to chat with me! I am not an expert on these things but I guess I can give some insight in some stuff? LOL Sorry for the long winded post, dont even know if I wrote it decently but anyways, good luck and I hope the best for your future and that you are able to find happiness in whatever it is you do!!!! :)
